Checklist: What to Review Before Finalizing Your Design
You’ve spent time carefully crafting your ideal MIDI controller in the Yaeltex Factory, and you’re almost ready to bring it to life. Congratulations!
Before you click that "Make It!" button, it's crucial to take a final moment to review your design. This checklist will help you catch any potential mistakes and ensure the controller you receive is exactly what you envisioned. Remember, once an order is submitted, the physical design is locked in.
✅ The Functional Layout - Your "Blueprint"
This is about the core structure and feel of your controller.
- Case Size & Orientation: Is the case (Small, Medium, Long, or Big) the correct size for your needs? Is the orientation (horizontal or vertical) right for your desk space? This is the most permanent decision you will make.
- Component Placement: Are all your faders, knobs, buttons, and other elements exactly where you want them? Take a moment to imagine your hands on the controller. Does the layout feel ergonomic and intuitive for your workflow?
- Component Count: Have you added all the components you need? Conversely, are there any extra elements that you don't need and are adding unnecessary cost?
✅ The Aesthetics - The "Look & Feel"
This is about the visual identity of your instrument.
- Background & Graphics: Is your background color or custom uploaded image correct? If you've uploaded artwork, is it the final, high-resolution version?
- Text Labels & Spelling: Triple-check every single text label. Are there any typos or spelling mistakes? Is everything clearly labeled for your workflow?
- Component Finishes: Have you selected your desired knob caps, fader cap colors, and any other visual options for your components in the Appearance View?
✅ The Rules & Limits - The "Final Check"
This ensures your design is valid and compliant.
- Hardware Calculator: Look at the Hardware Calculator on the side of the screen. Is your design within the component limits for Analog, Digital, and Encoder elements? The Factory prevents you from going over, but it's good to confirm you're happy with the final count.
- Copyright & Trademarks (Very Important): Have you used any patented logos, copyrighted images, or third-party trademarks that you do not have the legal right to use? The responsibility for the content you upload is yours. Designs with infringing content cannot be produced.
- Price: Are you happy with the final price displayed in the real-time calculator?
✅ Name your Project
- Project Name: Have you given your design a unique and memorable name in the "My Project" field? This name will be associated with your order.
Ready to Go?
Once you’ve gone through this checklist and are confident in every detail, you’re ready. You've confirmed the physical layout, double-checked the visuals, and reviewed the final price and rules.
Go ahead and click that "Make It!" button. We can't wait to build your vision.
