How to Add Custom Graphics & Logos to Your Faceplate

One of the most exciting parts of designing a Yaeltex controller is making it visually unique—a true reflection of your artistic identity. Our Factory app gives you the power to go beyond a simple color and add your own logos, artwork, and graphics directly onto the controller's faceplate.

This guide will walk you through the process, from uploading your artwork to understanding the important rules for a perfect result.

Your Canvas: The Aluminum Faceplate

The entire top surface of your controller is a single, robust 2mm aluminum panel. This panel serves as your creative canvas. We precision-print your custom design directly onto this surface, ensuring a permanent and durable finish.

How to Add Your Graphics: A Step-by-Step Guide

The entire aesthetic design process happens in the Appearance View within the Factory app.

Step 1: Navigate to the Appearance View

While designing your controller, switch from the default "Build" view to the "Appearance" view. This is your dedicated workspace for all visual customization.

Step 2: Upload Your Background Image

The most powerful way to add your custom graphics is to upload a single, high-resolution image that serves as the entire background for your faceplate. This single image should contain your logo, artwork, and any other visual elements, all laid out exactly as you want them to appear.

  • In the Appearance view, look for the option to set the background.
  • Choose "Upload your own image."
  • Select your prepared image file from your computer.

Step 3: Add Text Labels and Indicators

After setting your background, you can add another layer of detail.

  • Text Labels: Add text to label your components (e.g., "FILTER," "REVERB," "TRACK 1"). You can customize the color to complement your background graphic.
  • Indicators & Caps: Choose from our library of knob/fader caps and visual indicators to see how they integrate with your overall design.

Pro Tips for a Perfect Print

To ensure your design looks as stunning in real life as it does on your screen, please follow these best practices.

  • Use High Resolution: For the sharpest, most professional result, we highly recommend creating your artwork at 300 DPI (Dots Per Inch) at the final physical size of your chosen controller. Low-resolution images may appear blurry or pixelated when printed.
  • The Pre-Production Check: Don't worry if things look slightly misaligned in the web preview. Our design team performs a manual pre-production check on every single custom order. If we spot any potential issues—like low resolution, significant misalignment, or elements too close to the edges—we will contact you directly to provide a revised proof or request a better file.

Important Rules for Custom Artwork

To ensure a smooth process and respect intellectual property, please adhere to these rules.

  • You Are Responsible for Your Content: You must have the legal right to use any logos, images, or trademarks in your design. Do not use patented or copyrighted material that you do not own. The responsibility for ensuring the content is legally usable rests with you, the client.
  • Design Ownership: While the artwork you provide is yours, the final layout and combination of elements as a reproducible product template is the intellectual property of Yaeltex.
  • Sharing and Credit: If you choose to share your design in our community gallery after purchase, you will be proudly credited as the original designer!

By following these guidelines, you can create a controller that not only feels perfect in your hands but is also a stunning visual representation of your artistic identity.
