Troubleshooting Declined Payments

We understand it can be frustrating when a payment doesn't go through, especially when you're excited to finalize your custom controller order. Please don't worry—this is usually a common issue that can be resolved quickly.

This guide will walk you through the most common reasons for declined payments and the steps you can take to solve them.

The Most Important Thing to Know

For security and privacy reasons, our payment gateway does not tell us the specific reason why a payment was declined. This information is kept private between you and your bank or card issuer.

The decision to decline a transaction is made by the financial institution that issued your card, not by Yaeltex.

Common Reasons for a Declined Payment

Here are the most frequent causes for a failed transaction:

1. Incorrect Card or Billing Information

This is the most common reason. A simple typo can cause a decline. Please double-check that you have entered the following information exactly as it appears on your card statement:

  • Card Number: Check for any transposed digits.
  • Expiration Date: Ensure the month and year are correct.
  • CVV/CVC Code: The 3 or 4-digit security code, usually on the back of the card.
  • Billing Address & ZIP/Postal Code: The address must match the one your bank has on file for your card.

2. Bank or Card Issuer's Fraud Protection

This is very common for international purchases. Because we are a boutique company based in Argentina, your bank's automated security system might flag the transaction as unusual to protect you from potential fraud.

  • The transaction might be for a larger amount than you typically spend.
  • It's an international purchase from a merchant you haven't bought from before.

3. Insufficient Funds

The account linked to your debit or credit card may not have sufficient funds available to cover the total cost of the order.

4. PayPal Account Issues

If you are using PayPal, the issue could be with your PayPal account itself, such as an unconfirmed funding source, an issue with a linked bank account, or PayPal's own security filters.

What to Do Next: A Step-by-Step Action Plan

Step 1: The Quick Check

Before trying anything else, go back to the checkout page and carefully re-enter all your payment and billing information. A simple typo is often the culprit.

Step 2: Contact Your Bank or Card Issuer (Most Effective Solution)

If your payment is still declined, the best next step is to call the customer service number on the back of your credit or debit card.

Tell them: "I am trying to make an international online purchase from a company in Argentina called Yaeltex, but my transaction was declined. Can you please review and approve this transaction?"

In most cases, the bank representative can see the declined attempt and will "whitelist" or approve the transaction so you can try again successfully.

Step 3: Try an Alternative Payment Method

If you are still having trouble, consider trying a different method:

  • Use a different credit or debit card.
  • If you were trying a card directly, try checking out with PayPal instead. You can use the same card through PayPal's guest checkout without needing a PayPal account.
  • If you were using PayPal, try paying directly with a credit card on our checkout page.

Don't Worry, Your Design is Safe!

Your custom controller design is not lost. It is safely stored in your Factory account. You can always log back into the Factory, load your project, and click the "Make It!" button again to restart the checkout process once the payment issue is resolved.

If you have followed these steps and are still unable to complete your purchase, please contact our support team at support@yaeltex.com, and we will do our best to assist you.
