Understanding Production Batches & Lead Times
Your Yaeltex controller isn't a mass-produced item pulled from a shelf. It's a unique, handcrafted instrument, built specifically for you. To ensure every controller receives the meticulous attention it deserves, we operate on a batch production system.
This guide explains how our batch system works and what to expect for lead times, so you know exactly when your custom creation will make its way from our workshop to your studio.
What is a Production Batch?
Instead of building controllers one by one in the order they are received, we group all incoming orders into a "batch." Once a batch is full or its deadline is reached, we begin the manufacturing process for all controllers in that group simultaneously.
This system allows us to streamline our workshop processes, source high-quality components efficiently, and dedicate focused time to the craftsmanship of each instrument in the batch.
Understanding the Timeline
The total time until you receive your controller is made up of two main phases:
Phase 1: Fabrication Time (Approximately 60 Business Days)
This is the time it takes for us to handcraft your controller. This process includes:
- Precision-cutting and printing your custom aluminum faceplate.
- Crafting the Lenga wood case.
- Assembling all the electronic components onto the Kilomux board.
- Final assembly, rigorous testing, and careful packaging.
Phase 2: International Shipping Time
Once your controller is fabricated and shipped, the delivery time depends on the FedEx service you choose at checkout.
- FedEx International Priority: Typically 3-4 business days worldwide.
- FedEx International Economy: Typically 7-10 business days worldwide.
You will receive a tracking number via email as soon as your controller is dispatched, so you can monitor its journey.
A Note on Shipping Costs & Import Taxes
- Shipping Costs: The cost of shipping is calculated at checkout based on your controller's size and your location. As a general estimate for shipments to the US/EU, costs are approximately:
- Small Controller: ~$80+ USD
- Medium Controller: ~$90-$115 USD
- Large Controller: ~$120-$140 USD
- Import Taxes: Please remember that you are responsible for any import taxes, duties, or VAT levied by your country's customs authorities. These fees are not included in our price. We include the HS code
9207.90.008000on all shipments to assist with customs inquiries.
We understand that waiting for a custom instrument requires patience, and we are deeply grateful for it. Our batch system ensures that your controller is built with the care and quality it deserves. We can't wait for you to receive it.
